MINI Peabody with Theo

I should have posted this on Monday night, but I was busy – then I forgot … oh well, I am sure no-one is bothered!
On Monday, Theo was at MINI Peabody to have his MINI upgraded with the JCW. I organized with local MINI owners to meet up there and have lunch – but the weather prevented most people coming, but of course Theo was there, and most of his MINI(!)

Dave did the JCW upgrade – here he is (on the left) with Gary:

Jeff (BakerJC), Jared (PezBoy), and Ivan (Snek) were also there for at least some of the day; and Jared and I joined Theo for lunch at TGI Fridays (THANK YOU Theo!)

Theo did get his car back again … he wrote on MINI2 I’m taking it easy so I haven’t explored much over 4500. The couple of times I’ve gone up that far have been quite promising. It’s amazing how smoothIy the torque builds and I do notice a good deal of torque coming on in the low/mid 2000 rpm range that seemed to be absent prior to the 210 upgrade.

MINIs Making-A-Wish – Happy Holidays!

Remember our recent MINIs Making-A-Wish which included fun for more than 35 MINIs and their owners & passengers, and also delivered many toys and over $2500 to Make-A-Wish for the future happiness of some less fortunate folks …

Steve (PinCity on MINI2) posted an article today from the Newport Daily News, reporting on the first recipient of some of the money raised by our MINI event:
… Angelica Correira sucks her thumb and plays with dolls. She is a little girl in a young woman’s body, often confused by the world around her, a world inhabited by doctors who don’t understand what’s going on inside Angelica’s head …
There are many things Angelica has never done, many places she has never visited … But two weeks from now, the girl who has endured so much and lived so little will get to soar above the clouds and take in the view. She and her grandmother, her brother and her uncle Angelo Correira will depart Jan. 2 from T.F. Green Airport on a Southwest Airlines flight bound for Florida on a 7-day all- expenses-paid vacation made possible by the Make-A-Wish Foundation of Rhode Island …
A portion is being paid for by a donation from MINI’s Making-A-Wish, a Westerly-based organization of MINI Cooper owners and enthusiasts who held a fund-raiser and toy drive on Dec. 4. Donations from other groups and individuals paid the balance, said Melissa Colton, program services coordinator for Make-A-Wish. She said Angelica will be the first Rhode Island child to be granted a wish in 2005 by Make-A-Wish, which grants approximately 100 wishes a year …

Congratulations to Angelica, Steve and everyone who helped with MINIs Making-A-Wish … warm and fuzzy feelings for the holiday season 🙂
