Jason gets an ’07 MCS

MINI friend Jason has owned an early build VR MC since 2002 – he has more than 110,000 miles on that car and tracks it regularly. Unfortunately he recently tracked it just a little bit too hard and it suffered, leaving it currently un-driveable.
Since it was his daily driver too, Jason urgently needed a new car and thankfully stayed in the MINI family, buying this ’07 MCS ex-demo car from MINI of Peabody:

Congratulations, Jason!

A thirsty garden

Our weather this year started with lots of rain and warm-but-not-too-hot days, and the plants did very well; but recently it’s got very dry, and the grass and plants are now suffering! The problem with grass here in New England is it needs to survive high 90s in the summer, and then near zeroes in the winter (-20c to 35c!); I don’t think such grass exists … makes you wonder why people have lawns here! Anyway, some plants are still doing OK:

And Bridgette and the fish are happy:

Ice-cream at Howards drive-in

Margaret and I headed out today (no MINI – topless in her BMW instead!), and joined many of our MINI friends at Howards drive-in for lunch: this was a stop I missed during The Great Ice Cream Run – organizer Robyn missed it too and so drove all the way up from NJ to join us today!
Howards had burgers and excellent fries, but better still ice-cream – and the sizes were crazy! Forewarned, Margaret & I only ordered a “kiddy” size … Thom, who pulled together todays gathering, stepped up to the “small” (but he did manage to finish it!); someone should have ordered a large, just to see how big it was!

MINIs and MINI friends everywhere, including a group picture (thanks for taking it, Brian!):
