If you’ve not already noticed, “three GP” George is touring England for a month or more, in his red Mini – and documenting each day; already great pictures from Southern England, and my old haunts of Somerset and Bath … worth checking out:
Mini takes the UK – introduction
Classic’s and Castles – visiting Classic Minis and Arundel Castle
Stonehenge and Bath – loads of history in South West England (and all my personal favourite places!)
Cogswell construction continues
Following on from last weeks post about construction of Letizia & Roberto’s new house, here’s some latest pics (courtesy of Letizia – thanks!)
As you can see, the first floor is appearing now

(view from garage looking across “breezeway” to side view of first floor)
At the back, the house is getting REALLY TALL – and there’s still a second floor and roof to go!

(view to back of basement and first floor – eventually a deck will extend back from first floor)
“Wood” it work?
Another boom lift vehicle we are working on – it needed a re-designed platform control box so Matt made one, seen here, out of wood:

Turns out, the box worked fine (and my software too), but the vehicle had 24V coils while the vehicle is wired 12V, so no movement!
Today, with a wiring mod, we were able to get the boom moving (but still no drive yet).
