Overnight, Hurricane Bill (the first Atlantic Ocean Hurricane this year), passed within a few hundred miles of the Massachusetts coast – not close enough to even bring us rain here in Gloucester (luckily – Nova Scotia suffered!), but close enough to pump up the waves this morning!
Cinematic clouds
In the still hot weather today, we headed to the Cinema to see the latest Harry Potter movie – and also saw this impressive weather, with a strong rain storm passing by just a few miles away!

The movie was pretty good too … less dark than the book (less deaths / injuries!)
Life In A Northern Town
One of my favourite pieces of music – because it’s really good(!), and because it reminds me of “home” … Newcastle Upon Tyne!

It’s curious really … I lived in Newcastle for only about six years, less than in Bath and Frome (close enough to count as one place, really), and much less than here in Gloucester, MA (13 years now!); yet Newcastle still feels like “home” to me – though maybe if I lived there now, it’d be too different?
My GP MINI owning friend George happens to be touring England and in Newcastle right now – hope he’s loving it!
