Tree trimming

A couple weeks ago, I cut down a tree between our driveway and Joanne & Earle’s house – it overhung the driveway and littered the cars too much; I also took the bottom branch off a tree in our back garden, that was right down to the ground and made mowing the grass quite tricky around it.
That worked so well for mowing, that this past weekend, we took the lowest branches off the fir tree in the front garden, to make it look better and easier to care for, too … here’s “before” and “after” pictures:

I used my Spear & Jackson saw that my Nan & Grandad purchased for me years ago – it still works, and gives me good memories 🙂

Big hole in the ground

Letizia & Roberto are beginning to implement their plans to build a new, BIG, house on their land; the new building will be set back from the road – and can be built while their original house remains. Once the new house is finished, the original will be demolished.
We visited at lunchtime today to see the start – excavation readying for the concrete foundations:
