We recently visited 8002, and were amazed how big the Silk Floss tree is now! Margaret grew seeds back in 2012, and a year later in 2013 it was a few feet tall. But now, it’s huge! More than 8ft tall, I think, and with an amazing trunk!
Today Margaret and I headed up to Sanford to meet other MINIs and drive with Lori around her home town, with photo opportunities and then lunch (and beer). A fun day, made even better with the spectacular weather – blue skies, hot sun, and temperatures in the 70s!
Not that I can determine the sex of Great Blue Herons but I’m assuming that a nesting pair is “Mr & Mrs”! Here they are sort of together, with one on the nest and the other on a nearby branch (no sign of any young, yet):
