A return to Disney Epcot

Before the pandemic we purchased our annual Disney Passes so we could visit the parks whenever we wanted, although since moving to Stanton the drive meant we visited less often – then the pandemic hit and Disney changed everything! They increased prices (of course) but they also scrapped fast passes and demanded having to pre-plan everything, reserving a day before visiting, not being able to book any rides unless paying even more $$$, and then still only one-at-a-time – we decided to stop giving money to Disney!

But now, we have rejoined (at about $2,200 for both of us!) so we visited Epcot; it was busy (first weekend of the Festival Of The Arts) with lines of up to two hours, but we visited the new Moana-inspired land “Journey Of Water”, walked World Showcase, and did a few shorter-queue rides (Nemo, Living With The Land, Spaceship Earth) …

Disney Springs Christmas Trees 2023

This morning we returned to Disney Springs to walk their Christmas Tree Stroll, with trees placed throughout the outdoor shopping area. There was a FREE map and stickers available, allowing us to mark each tree on the map as we found it:

We started at the Lego store where we got the map, walked east past Ghirardelli as far as needed to find the trees, then backtracked and eventually reached Cirque Du Soleil spotting the rest of the trees, and photographing each one …

A pleasant morning, and the light rain didn’t spoil things (or make the map wet!)

Central Florida Community Arts: Once Upon A Dream

Last night we attended a fabulous musical choral + orchestral performance of Disney music, much of it in entertaining medleys and most of it recognizable. The performance was at Northland Church which is an amazing venue (and didn’t push religion too heavily!) … it’s introduced us to CFCArt and I think we will try to catch more of their work in the future …

I’ve included the playlist and some photos of the event (photos and even video allowed, so long as no flash/lights); the background is an animated projection showing images relevant to the performance (the rose for example is during Beauty and the Beast):

Here’s a little video to show just how good the performers were:
