Electric shade

It’s quite lovely living here in our new home with our beautiful view and no chance of winter snow – but it’s true that the summer sunshine can be really quite strong! New stair rails

The one really bad design of our new Lennar Brandywine home, is the stair rails! Because there’s a turn near the bottom with a wider-but-not-landing stair, and a permit failure from Orange County inspectors back when we were closing on our purchase, Lennar did a really ugly job of making a jagged stair rail; the rest of the rail design is ugly too – see how the lower angled rail buts in to the large vertical pillar at strange angles!

So now, finally, we got a local company to replace it all with a much better design. Perhaps it’s not “to code” any more, but it works fine and looks much better!

Morning rainbow
