Lake Louisa State Park

This afternoon we took a short trip to nearby Lake Louisa State Park, peaceful and full of trees and wildlife! There’s a few areas in the park, and multiple lakes; natures trails, forested scrubland; we even saw three wild deer – too far to photograph, but clear and not much bothered by us. But the Gopher Tortoise was close enough:

 

At Lake Louisa, we walked on the sandy “beach” and in the water, which was a very red/brown color …

Flowers at 8002

Although it’s been cooler this week (highs only in the low 60s), it’s certainly spring time down here, and some of the flowering plants are very full! Our bottle brush “tree” is so full of flowers it can’t hold itself up any more; the Hibiscus is also impressive:
