It’s hard sometimes when watching a Safari program on television – or when watching my Safari Video(!) – to get a realistic idea of what a Safari drive is like. So here I’ve put together a few videos taken during our trip, using just my iPhone (so these views are close to the truck, not zoomed in from far away!)
You can see that the terrain is sometimes grass plain, sometimes more full of trees, sometimes no animals visible and sometimes you have to stop because the animals are blocking the road!
Overall, it’s a spectacular place to visit; even when there’s no animals the scenery is very special …
Tanzania Video Safari
Margaret and I recently completed our most fabulous vacation which included time in Abu Dhabi and Dubai, as well as ten days in Tanzania with most of that time on Safari in the Serengeti, Grumeti and Ngorongoro parks! Our personalized trip was created to our specifications by Africa Dream Safaris and included our own driver guide and private vehicle. We expected our Safari to be great but everything about it went far beyond anything we’d imagined; it was quite definitely our best ever vacation.
During the trip I collected more than 1,500 photos and 300 videos using both my iPhone and my Nikon camera which I’d bought specifically for the trip because of it’s great image quality and 2000mm equivalent lens.
With Apple Photo Memories, I’ve created this video of our trip – using only videos I recorded during the trip. I hope you enjoy sharing our vacation (see the full resolution here on YouTube):
Strong memories!
Ten years ago today, was my grandfather’s funeral (he’d died on October 30). Two years ago tomorrow, my Nan died. Both my grandparents were a HUGE part of my younger life, one of the stable points of my family.
When I visited England for my Nan’s funeral, it was to be the last time I’d visit their home – the only home I’d ever known them live in, a place I could always visit for love and friendship (even more so in the earlier years when my Uncle still lived there too).
So on my last visit, I took lots of photos – and now Apple Memories has helped me create this strongly emotional memory video. For my family perhaps it stirs a similar emotion of love now lost but still with us in memory …
