After the storms

We drove about 400 miles today, up from Washington DC back in to Massachusetts, meeting our first traffic jam (in Baltimore) and our first bad weather – in Springfield, MA where by some great luck we managed to be just minutes ahead of extreme weather, tornadoes, and huge hail!

Meeting our friends Theo and Carol for dinner, we experienced the good side of that weather as it left us, giving a beautiful sunset in Easthampton …

It turned out to be a rather hot day to choose for walking round Washington DC! As a result, we rode the tour bus mostly, and visited only the US Capitol Visitor Center, Library of Congress, and a Sculpture Park …
