An amazing sight (if rather disturbing to Margaret) is the hatching of a nest of tiny spiders on our deck – they all cluster together (for protection?), but spread out rapidly when disturbed …

The Open Door Empty Bowl 2009
As in previous years (2006, 2007, 2008), the Cape Ann Food Pantry had it’s annual Empty Bowl event yesterday, raising funds to support their mission of “Feeding People. Changing Lives”, but this year, we have a new name, “The Open Door”, and a new logo to match! Once again the event was well attended by volunteers and supporters that contributed to be able to select a decorated souvenir bowl to take home, and partake in bread & soup dinner to emphasize the limited food available to some people – it’s also a great social event.
