Margaret and I have now lived in USA for 30 years and to celebrate we’ve just completed a road trip up the east coast; our first overnight stop was Savannah, GA … we visited Hoftwyl-Broadfield Plantation on the way, and took a walk around Forsyth Park next morning:
Today we returned to Chase Sanctuary to enjoy a special “swim with otter” special event (which may be repeated in the future, I don’t know). We met the 4 month old baby otter “Daphne” and her keeper (and seemingly best friend) Brody, and spent more than half an hour in a big pool interacting with Daphne – she in turn was so very entertaining and shared her time with all four of us! And here, Daphne was fascinated by my Crocs, reaching in through the holes and when I took one off, running away with it as a trophy!
Today we drove over to Oakland for their third annual “car stroll” (this year supported by Advent Health); it’s a small and quiet event but some nice vehicles on show (previous years: 2024, 2025). Here are my photos;
