This morning, in the cooler (80s) weather, we took a 1/2 hour tour around the city on a boat – inexpensive ($8.25 each) and recommended!

San Antonio River Walk
San Antonio turns out to be a very curious city, with a center wrapped on all four sides by water, and with a lovely walk around it with stores and restaurants, outside dining, interesting bridges, and a generally excellent place to tour! Here’s some pictures from our evening walk:
Tomorrow we plan on riding one of the tour boats, maybe the Miss Margaret?!
Driving in Texas
Today we drove a “short” 365 miles from Pecos to San Antonio – we’re now about half way across Texas! Driving was easy, with the speed limit at 80 for much of the drive, and almost no traffic … but also not much scenery till we got close to San Antonio! There’s a lot of “not much” in Texas – see the distance between rest stops …

When we arrived in San Antonio, we checked in to a very nice Westin hotel, on the 14th floor, with a good view down to the river below (and the hotel pool). Tomorrow, we can explore the city (no driving for a whole day!)
