MINIsOnTop 2005 – The Trivia Contest

On Friday, after washing GBMINI, I headed north to Gorham, NH; we drove part of the Kancamagus Highway & Bear Notch Road that everyone drives on Saturday – sadly it was wet at times (an end to GBMINI being clean!)

At the Town & Country Inn (the adopted headquarters for MINIsOnTop) “MOTOR”, the MINIsOnTop Operations Room, was used for a general meet & greet area and then later for a Trivia Contest.

The team that I joined, initially called “Three Men & Two Women”, expanded in members & hilarty as the evening progressed, changing its name on the way to “Breast Milk” – our answer to the question of “most popular organic beverage” … apparently the correct answer is coffee, but we preferred our answer 😉
In the end, our teams skills especially including Joes car knowledge, gave us a clear win and the award medal!

MINIsOnTop 2005 – nearly time!

Today I received my “care package” for MINIsOnTop 2005:

THANK YOU STEVE!

Included:
Grey T-shirt with “MINIsOnTop logo” design on front and “MINIsOnTop decal” design on back;
Name tags for me & Margaret (thanks Diane);
Big yellow “MINIsOnTop” antenna ball;
Green “MINIsOnTop” static cling decals, theoretically to put on GBMINI#3 – but the green will clash 😉
“Raffle” tickets to be used to “bid” for one or more of the many donated door prizes;
Vouchers for lunch and for the ride up Mount Washington on the auto road;
Info on the White Mountains region of New Hampshire, and the Kancamagus Highway.

If you are registered you will soon receive your package too (remember the T-shirt and vouchers are “paid for” items).

MINIsOnTop 2005 donations

MINIsOnTop fast approaches, with more than 200 registered MINIs and nearly 500 people attending!
Many MINI affiliates generously donate prizes for the event – some used as door prizes for attendees, and some raffled to raise money for charity (this years charity is the Kennedy-Donovan Center in Massachusetts).
The major donation is a two year lease of a MINI Cooper from Herb Chambers, being raffled ($50 per ticket – contact Steve if you want a ticket).

Other donations include items from Bentley Publishing, Prestige MINI, Helix Motorsports, OutMotoring, Bavarian Autosport, Towne MINI, and Steve announced today that MINI Peabody will be donating a MINI roof box.

As well as the above business donations, there are a number of personal donations; check the MINI2 door prizes thread for full details.

And remember – registration is closed; if you missed it, make sure to sign up early for MINIsOnTop 2006!
