First two GP family?

I headed down to Herb Chambers MINI today to meet George & Jayne, picking up their second GP, #1717 – George works away from home frequently but loves the GP so much, he wanted one for at home and one when he is away.

Unfortunately when I arrived, George was in major distress due to the long list of faults on the GP! There was an obvious dent in the rear bumper, grease marks on the passenger seat, and worst of all lots of paint blemishes – it looked like the car had been parked under dripping rusty pipes!
All these faults should have been found by Herb Chambers – but instead they were found by George after his flight up from New York (Herb Chambers MINI only prepped the car this morning).

The car was sent away to be re-buffed and it improved the paint marks; Kerry and the others at Herb Chambers MINI promised to do “whatever it takes” for George to be happy – which likely will include a full detailing by Georges local expert, a new rear bumper, and a new seat cover … with this promise George inspected the car again and decided to take it.

Great to see George & Jayne again – hope the two GPs get along well πŸ™‚

NEMO christmas party 2006

Today, unlike last year, there was no snow and a great turn-out!Β The party was also at a new and better venue this year, the Kings Inn in Putnam, CT – lots more space which was perfect, given that people prefer to mingle and chat rather than sit and eat …

Apart from meeting friends, the highlight of the NEMO christmas party is the yankee swap – and this year we reverted to my preferred rules, where you EITHER pick a gift OR steal (seems fairer than opening a gift and then swapping if you don’t like it!);Β I ended up stealing this cute Mini / clock, which David originally opened but which he lost to Hrach prior to me …

Great day! Thanks, NEMO πŸ™‚

MTTSphotos

MTTSphotos (Newscast) was the official photographers of MINI Takes The States and they took some great pictures!
I ordered a pile of (mostly) GPMINI related pics – here’s some of them:

If you drove all or part of MTTS you might be included in some of the many pictures they took – head over to MTTSphotos and have a look!
