MINIsOnTop 2005 donations

MINIsOnTop fast approaches, with more than 200 registered MINIs and nearly 500 people attending!
Many MINI affiliates generously donate prizes for the event – some used as door prizes for attendees, and some raffled to raise money for charity (this years charity is the Kennedy-Donovan Center in Massachusetts).
The major donation is a two year lease of a MINI Cooper from Herb Chambers, being raffled ($50 per ticket – contact Steve if you want a ticket).

Other donations include items from Bentley Publishing, Prestige MINI, Helix Motorsports, OutMotoring, Bavarian Autosport, Towne MINI, and Steve announced today that MINI Peabody will be donating a MINI roof box.

As well as the above business donations, there are a number of personal donations; check the MINI2 door prizes thread for full details.

And remember – registration is closed; if you missed it, make sure to sign up early for MINIsOnTop 2006!

“Burning MINIs”

(no, we did not burn any – but we did burn a duck)

Inspired by Burning Man, Judy & Tony invited MINIs to join them for a drive from their home in Haverhill to Newburyport and back, followed by BBQ, fire and drums!

Although the weather was supposed to rain, we once again beat the odds and enjoyed dry skies and some sunshine … we also visited Llamas!

The roads were quiet and beautiful now that leaves have returned to the trees:

When we reached Newburyport, we parked by the boardwalk & headed off for lunch:

On the way back, we stopped lake side, and Steve demonstrated the noisy power of Stryker:

Then we headed to a school, to enjoy the view, and enjoy the play facilities!

Finally we returned to our start point, collecting a few MINI mirror shots on the way!

Back at Judy & Tonys farm, the fire was built and finally lit:

Through the evening we enjoyed the heat of the fire, BBQ food and great company … although no drums had been played when I left to head home.

The MINI2 planning thread

Two MINIs at PG Trionic!

My colleagues wife, Marie Catherine, came over and sat in GBMINI#3 on Tuesday, to try out the seating – she liked it and said she was interested in test driving a convertible, so I spoke with MINI Peabody and set up a test drive for her & Christian on Tuesday evening.
Yesterday morning, she was sold on the MINI and needed one now! Luckily, MINI Peabody had a (very) few stock convertibles and so this morning she owns one – how about that, 24 hours from test drive to ownership …

Marie Catherine has a powerful Infiniti for “quick drive” days, so was happy to choose a MINI Cooper for her “cruising convertible”; of course being a MINI the car looks great in Pure Silver, with the premium package, CVT transmission, and little else.
