NEMO Christmas Party

There was a NEMO event today – the Christmas Party! Delayed from December due to the snowstorm (which kept Margaret and I stranded in Washington DC for a few days …

We had about 60 people come (NEMO membership is over 100 now!) although in a light snow storm many people did not come in their MINI/Mini. When I got there, Ken had arrived in his Mini “woody” and shortly after a “Mini Moke” arrived, with no sides to it! More MINIs arrived, and we had a fun lunch / Christmas party …

BMWCCA meeting at Turner Motorsport

I went to the Boston chapter of the BMW Car Club Of America first quarter general meeting tonight, which was held at Turner Motorsports in Amesbury. There were a couple of other MINIs there apart from GBMINI, owned by people that work at Turner Motorsport. In their showroom was a rather different car – a McLaren F1!

The general meeting was not like I expected – it was much better! Basically we were entertained in Turner Motorsports workshop with food and drink and two hours of personal history from Will Turner, from his first speeding ticket (on the way home from the driving test center), through various racing events, through to last years major success taking first and third on the 2003 SCCA world challenge

MINIsOnTop 2004 planning

MINIs On Top 2004 – the planning continues!
Although it is still 2003, plans for next year proceed. The date, 19th June 2004, is set. There will be more than one drive – a long one from Bar Harbor to the mountain, as well as a repeat of the Kancamagus drive, and perhaps others if popular.

Info on this years and next years runs can be found at MINIsOnTop; active discussions of next years plans are occurring on this MINI2 thread.

See you there …
