Returning to Port Jervis

During The Great Ice Cream Run, one of the most memorable stops was Riverside Creamery in Port Jervis (on the NY/PA border), offering deep fried ice cream.

Heading home from the many JLG Eboom vehicles, I reached Port Jervis at about 7pm, so decided to return …

The deep fried ice cream was good, but you know what they say … it’s never as good as the first time 🙂
Maybe you need to be with a bunch of MINI friends, to get the proper experience! Hi Murray, David, Erica … Hi Robyn, Ian and everyone (and thanks, George, for reminding me how to get back to Riverside Creamery!)

Today was spent roasting in Shippensburg, temps in the low 90s and strong sun all day (probably should have got some sun-cream this morning!) … Anyway, if you’re wondering why I’m here, have a look at this, that’s Dan, not me, but we’re both working on JLG boom lift vehicles:

This evening I headed in to Shippensburg to the Treat restaurant, which as it’s name suggests, offers lots of treats – including an amazingly wonderful strawberry shake made with vanilla ice-cream and fresh strawberries 🙂 Perfect after a long day in the sun! I was met by George in his MINI, and Dave & Amber in her MINI – Dave’s own MINI was recently rear-ended and is due for “surgery” soon!

So, following on from Margarets attraction to the smart cars at the recent Lars Anderson Motor Museum event, we decided to “donate” $99 to Smart USA and see what it brings …

We are currently building our dealership network in anticipation of the smart USA vehicle introduction targeted for the first quarter 2008. Your reservation information will be sent to the smart dealer designated for your area. During the second half of 2007, that dealer will contact you directly to formalize your order, work out the details of your purchase agreement and arrange for delivery. Interesting that it’s “smart”, not “Smart”. It’s already “second half of 2007”, and the “road show” passed by Boston ages ago, so their form letter needs some updating!
