… On Top

After MINIsOnTop, now comes Turkey On Top 😯

Pictures taken last weekend by my neighbour Earle – thankfully I was still asleep when this happened, and there doesn’t seem to be any roof/paint damage …

Much less concerning was the other “on top” I had recently – a dragonfly decided to perch on GPMINIs antenna; this guy is brave, and lets me approach ever closer … He eventually decides I’m a possible threat and starts turning on his “perch” to keep me in view, before flying away just after I take the final picture:

MOT2007 delivery day

A round of deliveries today, by MINIsOnTop “yellow hats” Michael, Ivan, Richard and me … first stop was MINI of Peabody to again thank them for their support, and to present copies of three letters sent to us by Make-A-Wish, describing the three wishes we helped create for children-in-need with the more than $16,000 we raised during MOT2006:

Next stop was Herb Chambers MINI in Boston; coincidentally we arrived during the delivery of the two-year-lease MINI Cooper won by Meg & Jeff at MOT2007!

We then headed upstairs and found extremely busy Kerry, delaying her just long enough for Michael to present another set of Make-A-Wish letters:

Last delivery of the day was to Rosie’s Place, the MOT2007 charity, where we were met by Ruthie (who also took us on an interesting & informative tour of their location) – we presented the check for $14,993 raised during MOT2007 (this is in addition to $1,500 already presented, from checks collected by MINIsOnTop and written out direct to Rosie’s Place):

I’d like once again to thank everyone involved with MINIsOnTop, as organizer, sponsor or attendee, for helping to bring happiness to children in need.

(head over to MINIsOnTop to see copies of the three Make-A-Wish letters)

MotoringFile down

As noted by Joe …

MFsuspended.jpg

Let’s hope it’s just a temporary glitch; Don Burnside’s website has more details:
Unfortunately MotoringFile is currently down due to our host having shut down the server the site happens to reside on.
Twinshosting (who we rent server space from) is having attacks and they’ve somehow traced it to the server MF happens to be on (with other sites). They’ve now shut-down the server and are investigating with no time-table given

This sounds a lot like the behaviour I had with Site5 a month ago, which forced me to move hosting companies … the problem for me was specific comment-spam attacks from just two IP addresses; none of the comment-spam got through but attempts continued anyway and were responsible for more than half of all web access. Of course Site5 could have simply blocked the rogue IP, but instead chose to shut down my site. Has TwinsHosting done the same to MotoringFile?
