Toggle Switch Re-labeling kit

A few people have seen this Toggle Switch Re-labeling kit, which was shipped to early MINI owners as part of the owners welcome kit. The idea is to have some fun re-labeling the toggle switches in your car – but these labels are no longer available from MINI USA (I can’t even find them on eBay!)
But now, MINI Pirate, an aftermarket MINI company, has designed their own similar re-label kit and is planning to sell a batch:

Crack … Smack … Windshield #2 gone

On my way to work yesterday morning, an annoying slow truck in the fast lane “encouraged” me to get too close to the back of it, and the result was a loud SMACK when a rock from it hit my (almost new) windshield; about 10 minutes later there was a CRACK noise, and a crack appeared just to the lower left on my view through the windshield! By lunchtime, the crack had grown significantly (the tape marks the end of it when I got to work) – but luckily it hasn’t grown much further since then.

From outside, there’s an impressive “starburst” on the windshield – I won’t be able to get this one replaced under warranty!

Two year MINI lease for $25!

I’m pleased to announce the second major raffle prize for MINIsOnTop 2006 – a two year lease of a MINI Cooper from Herb Chambers MINI of Boston:

For MINIsOnTop 2005, Herb Chambers MINI of Boston made a similar generous prize donation, and we are thrilled that they were again able to offer such a great raffle prize!

This year, a 2-year lease of a 2006 Solar Red MINI Cooper will be given to raise money for the Make-A-Wish Foundation of Massachusetts. The winner of the lease will be chosen by a raffle drawing (conducted under the auspices of the MINIsOnTop organizers) to occur on June 17, 2006 at the MINIsOnTop event. The terms provide for a 24 month – 10,000 miles/year lease, and do not include insurance, tax, title, or license fees. A maximum of 250 tickets will be sold for this prize, at $25 each – or buy 5 tickets for $100.
