Pipes

Returning for another look at our new home today, we find more changes – water pipes have been laid in the newly introduced soil, both for incoming cold water, hot water from the heater in the garage, and waste pipes out to the street!

There was also a pile of steel rebar which will no doubt soon be placed ready for the concrete pour – so another trip will be needed soon!

The two homes either side are now fully framed, the rest of the 8 plots are in various states, with one even less advanced than ours, another poured but no construction, etc … and many more “available” signs on the other side of the road and further in to the estate, indicating much more work yet to come.

And a little wildlife in the area:

The “lay of the land”

We returned to Lennar Homes at Independence today, to pay our 10% deposit on our next home. Driving by our home site, we saw that work is already beginning – the home is now staked out, and soil is being added presumably to prepare the site for running utilities, and pouring the concrete slab. I did a little video:

Apparently we need to drive up quite regularly, as progress appears rapid. The properties either side are going up fast!

Flowers, no flowers

It’s amazing how much the plants down here at 8002 have grown, since we were here earlier in the year!

Watching the Ruellia every day is impressive: first thing in the morning, the plants are covered in brand new flowers, and in the evening, they’ve all dropped, ready for another covering next day! The Bees and Butterflies love them – fresh food every morning …
