Hidden Mickeys

Today, after a morning at our pool, we headed over to Epcot – which was pleasantly quiet today.ย While riding the boat through “The Land” we noticed this Mickey “hidden” in growing salad plants:

There are doubtless many hidden Mickeys in the parks, but we’ve found few … This is one that Margaret spotted heading on to the Buzz Lightyear ride in Magic Kingdom:

Disney Wilderness Preserve

About half an hour from 8002 is the Disney Wilderness Preserve, created with 8,500 acres of preserved land in the 1990’s – mostly to offset Disney’s non-wildlife friendly activities elsewhere in their property, and to enable the building of Celebration (see Disney’s interesting history viewpoint).
Paul & Sheila visited during their trip last year and told us about it, so we decided to visit today – one strong recommendation though, is NOT to visit in the middle of the day, without water, when the sun is strong with temperature in the 80s! Phew!

There’s a trail winds it’s way through the preserve, taking you through prairie-like flat land, to thick trees and a Mangrove-surrounded lake, before looping back through the “prairie” to parking …
