As well as covering about 315 miles today, we spent an hour in New Orleans … St Louis Cemetery #1, established 1789, was interesting, and some of the French Quarter was impressive – but Bourbon St was awful, and smelly, and the weather was just too hot and humid to be enjoyable!
Four states in one day!
Today we began in Louisiana, visited New Orleans, then traveled through Mississippi and Alabama before finally reaching Florida (though we still have more than close to 500 miles to go!); we also suffered the very worst wet weather ever seen – twice! Crazy rain, continuous lightning, and thunder so close to be heard even over the noise of the crashing rain on the car!
