England 2008: Pooh bridge

After our stay in Brighton, we headed back to Dad’s home and admired his new fish pond (also later helped upgrade it with a UV light to eliminate green water!):

Dad took us out in to the English countryside, and then we headed in to Ashdown Forest to visit the “Pooh Sticks” bridge!

(and a link back to our home in Florida: At the end of 1999, Pooh’s favourite bridge was forced to close because of the wear and tear caused by thousands of visitors. At the end of that year, the bridge was rebuilt at a cost of £46,000 with the help of a £15,000 donation from Walt Disney – from here!)

England 2008: Brighton

A “mini break” in Brighton, staying at the Hotel Una:

Brighton has a lovely stone beach, and on our visit had spectacular waves from a storm off the coast (that arrived as we left!). Brighton Pier, offering Jellied Eels (yuk!) and 99s (yum!) which are a soft serve ice cream cone with chocolate flake:

One more thing in Brighton – the Royal Pavilion! An incredible building, styled like the Taj Mahal on the outside, and filled with Chinese style decoration inside (although sadly, they ban photographs inside!) … created for King George IV back in the late 1700’s …
