Four bedrooms

We now have four fully usable bedrooms, proved by last nights guests (all four rooms used!); our bedroom is not much changed from when we moved in, except for a (temporary?) curtain on the window nearest, to block the early morning light from waking me! We bought a new bed for ourselves here, and find it perfectly comfortable …

Upstairs also facing the back of our home, and the beautiful view, is what we expect to be the most popular guest bedroom:

Also upstairs, another king bedroom, at the front of the house – best for people that like to wake with the sun as this room faces East! This room inherits the bed/bedding from the “captains room” at 8002 so still has the blue theme, with shell handles on the drawers. Maybe the room will get water themed walls again, one day:

Downstairs, our queen guest bedroom also faces the view but eliminates stairs and offers some English pictures on the walls:

We’re expecting more guests later this month, which will be nice …

A wall of “Expedit”

We’ve been moved in at Independence for a week now, and we’ve got much of our new home sorted out, including my office. At 8002, I had one 4×2 shelf of “Expedit” from IKEA for storage and found it attractive and useful so wanted more in the new office.
Then I read that IKEA is discontinuing the Expedit line, so we headed over to our more-local-than-in-Massachusetts IKEA to get more. We had to go twice (our first trip last Sunday found a lot of out-of-stock), but now I’m nicely set with a complete wall of IKEA shelving!

By amazing chance, the six Expedit units precisely fit that wall, with less than 1/4″ play to the baseboard trim on each side. I’ve not finished putting things away yet, and I might get some more drawers (which easily install in the squares) …
And I don’t think the TV will stay there, just a quick experiment.

We also sorted the office lighting; a second unit above the computer was needed:

I need to get a different desk setup, right now there’s only space for one computer – the project continues!
