[although actually, I was already here!]
Received my second “Welcome To The Neighborhood Kit” from MINI USA today; still not sure how this works with MINI – I know when GBMINI#3 was ordered it was too close to production to sign up for the “waiting is fun” program, but presumably this Welcome Kit has been shipped in response to GBMINI#3 (just 5000 miles late!)
The contents were mostly the same as I have seen before, with a MINI journal, “bingo” cards, unauthorized manual, etc – but aย couple of not-before-seen things, including a small black wallet full of MINI cards – I have seen the cards before, but not the wallet:
So I guess now I belong to the MINI community ๐
Sweet. I’m looking forward to getting mine soon. Once again, thanks for the accessory brochure.
I asked at the last MINI club meeting if any new owners were still getting the welcome kit and none of the new owners (last three to four months) had seen anything.
Time to buzz the MAs at the dealer!
I emailed MINIUSA via the website yesterday and got a response this morning. That in itself is quite positive… ๐
I asked about the toggle relabeling kit, which I’ve had an itch for for quite some time, now. I was told to wait ’til mid-July (I took delivery on 5/19) and the welcome kit should come. Sweet!
I really want an ejector seat switch. ๐
Nice to see they are including the unauthorized manual/toggle labels in the new kits, they weren’t last year, although miniusa sent me one when I asked them.
I don’t think the toggle switch labels are in the kit – I have not opened the unauthorised manual yet, but it felt too flexible to have the labels in it.
Ian, my toggle labels were inside the Unauthorized Owners Manual…I thought I was missing them too at at first.
You are right – I unwrapped the unauthorized manual and tucked inside is a panel of toggle switch re-labels just like the ones I already had; so now I have two sets ๐
I just got my 3rd Welcome Kit (3rd MINI purchase…2002 Cooper > 2004 Cooper S > 2005 Cooper S Convertible. Ironically, I got the kit the DAY after I broke down on the highway — where I really could’ve used the “Emergency Please Send Help” sign. Roadside assistance was pretty quick to respond, and BLIMEY is back to normal again. But I think I want a free t-shirt for my troubles now. ๐
