MTTS day 9 – what an evening!

Tonights evening gathering was a “tailgate party” right outside Busch Stadium where the St Louis Cardinals were playing their season opener …

A photo was staged for all the MINI Takes The States coast-to-coast’ers (maybe 20 people but not everyone was present), then it was announced that we all get free “sky box” tickets to tonights game! WOW! And what a view … Sadly the Cardinals didn’t do so well …

The event was great fun! It was especially nice to meet Gary & Linda, who have owned their MINI for just two months (and 4000 miles) – Linda wanted a test drive over Labor Day Weekend, and their car died as they reached the dealership … although the techs diagnosed the problem, it was a Ford so they couldn’t fix it and so they loaned a MINI to Gary & Linda for the long weekend!
Of course by Tuesday, the dealership couldn’t get the keys out of their hands – and they’ve been loving it ever since …IMG_2359.jpg

Also … hello (some of) R.A.Events (the team making this event run); hope you had fun (looks like you did!):

  1. Ian,
It looks like you are still having a great time and getting the red carpet treatment. Interesting about the number of coast to coasters. It seems that all of the attendance numbers have failed to measure up to RSVPs. I wonder if we MINI folks tend to not follow thru? 🙂 Thanks again for the chance to do the trip vicariously.

  2. The registration numbers were always going to be exaggerated – many MINI owners registered just in case, and many registered just to get the swag. There were also duplicates and errors
