Ruthie

I read today the very sad news that another MINI friend, Ruthie, passed away recently!

See this MINI2 thread for condolences.

Like her friend Ed / MaxaMINI who died last year, she touched many MINI foks online; her many threads included a favourite of mine – the Amateur Photographers Roll Call on MINI2 (I think you have to be a MINI2 member to access this off-topic thread).

I first met Ruthie at Eds memorial last year, and happily met her again at the Dining with Ed gathering – now perhaps she & Ed can meet up once more.

England trip: Newcastle

Still my favourite place in England – Margaret lived there through University and after, from 1981 to 1996. While I only lived there from 1990, I still loved it more than other places I’ve lived. There’s so much to do, so much history, yet within a short distance you’re out in open countryside! Here’s some pics:

England trip: Norwich

As well as attending my Grandads funeral and seeing family in London, we also visited Norwich (where Margarets parents live) and Newcastle (where our friends still live, and many of our favourite English places!) … Here’s some pictures from the Norwich part of our trip (where we stayed, the Waffle House restaurant, Margaret’s parents, flint walls):
