Safari reader view

Today’s update of Apple’s Safari browser brings a new “reader” view, which seems to be available only sometimes, but with no website effort … I tried it on GBMINI; it wasn’t offered on the main page, or on the most recent post, but Safari did offer “reader view” on my last MINI Takes The States post. Here is the normal view, and the Safari reader version:

There’s nothing special that I’ve done to that post, it’s a bit of a mystery how Safari chooses whether or not to offer the reader view. Which do you prefer?

A Heron visits the pond!

We got a phone call from Joanne next door this evening: “Warning, there’s a Heron at your fish pond!”; so of course I rushed out with camera in hand … Margaret also rushed out, and got closer so that the Heron flew away:

The fish did not seem bothered at all, so I don’t think it had been there long enough to threaten them – but now it might return 😦

Douglas Adams

An exciting, recently discovered, CD:

This is Douglas Adams reading The Hitch Hikers Guide To The Galaxy, live in London, 1995 – he reads excerpts from various parts of the (six book!) trilogy, and reads them well – listening to the CD on my way to/from Boston recently was a great pleasure.

I never knew that Douglas Adams read his books live anywhere!
