We recently took a driving trip from Florida, staying overnight in seven states to “tick them off” the list (we’ve stayed in nearly 40 of the 50 states now); our first stop after more than 350 miles of driving was a little town Eufaula in Alabama, reasonably close to our destintion next morning. We stayed in a nice B&B and took a walk downtown which was sadly quite rundown other than Main St where we had dinner (we found a “Piggly Wiggly” too, famous as the first true self-service grocery store in USA, though not this specific location!) …
