We fly back to USA from Madrid so from Malaga we took yet another great train ride, and had an overnight in Madrid before our flight. Our hotel was walking distance from the “Royal Palace of Madrid” so we walked there to see the impressive building and views over the gardens (it was too late to go in) …
While the palace was closed for the day, the Royal Collections Gallery was still open so we visited, and it was worth doing with some very impressive (and huge) artworks, dating back to as long ago as the 1500s; here is a selection of those I most liked:

Next morning we had time for a walk around part of the city, and the last few photos are during the taxi ride to the airport. It looks like Madrid needs another, longer, visit!
