Today we headed North from Steve and Joan’s home, leaving North Carolina after seeing Pilot Mountain; further North we entered Virginia and joined the Blue Ridge Parkway for about 100 miles – and finally the weather was good enough for Margaret to drop the top on her new Z4!
We are spending a wonderful day at MINI friend Steve’s home in North Carolina, currently sitting on their deck admiring the views and listening to many Cicadas – and one even visited us long enough to get photos:
Getting your BMW delivered at the performance center gives lots of extras at no cost – overnight hotel with meals, a factory tour, museum access, and time on the braking, skid pad and auto cross, as well as driving an X5 over a very rugged test course!
The museum is very small, but interesting; however the factory is spectacular – though sadly no photos. Auto cross was great fun, and the X5 turned out to be pretty impressive on their course (not surprising) … I took a few photos during the 7 hour day:
