Koko

Our neighbours Pat & Dave finally got a dog this last weekend (they have been thinking about it for a long time) – they got 3-4 month old Koko from the local animal rescue, but he was actually rescued from the streets of Puerto Rico and brought here … He is a little timid but very playful once he is comfortable with you – and of course gets tired quickly because he is only a baby!

I’m sure Pat & Dave will have great fun with Koko in the years to come …

Spoke too soon – snow!

Serves me right for saying “winter is easy this year” … yesterday we were hit with about 6″ of heavy wet snow; not too much when we got up (maybe 2″) but it kept going through much of the day …

At work, more and more snow as the day progressed:

It took me about 3/4 hour to clear the driveway when I got home, so that we could park our cars – GBMINI is not at all keen to climb over snowbanks!

Aruba 2006

Last week, with Margarets USA passport finally arrived, we booked a last minute trip to Aruba to get some sun & warmth – although winter so far this year has been very easy (the fish pond is not frozen at all!)
We enjoyed a very lazy week on the beach and rarely left the hotel except to get food in an excellent nearby restaurant called Tango (they had fabulous steak and other meats, and a so-so live tango dance every hour; best of all was their “Tango crepe” dessert!).

Some pictures (though I didn’t take many on this trip):
