English Snow

A rare event – if it snows in England, it’s unusual and generally only a dusting; but my Dad just sent pictures of the snow where he lives, and it’s impressive! Must be at least 3″, and no doubt no-one is travelling anywhere right now … Maybe more impressive, the Sun is trying to shine – that doesn’t happen often in an English winter either!

Very high tide

Yesterday, with the off-shore storm pushing water towards the coast, and a “blue” full moon, high tide was high enough to overflow on to the road (and in the distance, almost high enough to flood the school grounds!) … The water was so high, it was bubbling up out of the storm drain and flooding the other side of the road, too!

All Snowed under again

As expected, yesterdays clearing was reversed by Snow all day and night – high winds too! So this morning, the paths and driveway are covered by perhaps 8″ of Snow (though the cars only had an inch or two due to the winds); and so just like yesterday we’re dug out again – we’ll see how long it lasts …

(if you compare with yesterdays picture, you can spot the pile to the side of the cars getting much higher!)
