Long ago, in the days of the first new MINI, there was a toggle switch re-labelling kit produced by MINI USA and collected by a few lucky MINI owners (it was sometimes found in the Welcome Kit shipped to some owners).
Then in 2006, MINI Pirate produced a new set of toggle switch labels and now, Aesthetic Creations has produced a set:
These are nice quality peel-off stickers, and with their nod to The HitchHikers Guide To The Galaxy, I had to have a couple of sets for my collection 😉
Today I received the sad news that a wonderful friend and MINI owner, Diane, has passed away. Diane had been fighting cancer for some years, and while it appeared that she was winning when we saw her last year, in the end you can never win 😦
Before Diane’s struggle, she regularly attended MINI events, driving hundreds of miles from her home in Maine to attend events as far away as New York! Here are some pictures from events that both she and I attended …

[Years later], prompted by a Facebook post from Diane’s family, I put together this short video sequence of photos of her and her MINI …
Heading to the North Shore Mall for lunch this past weekend, we noticed a JLG electric boom lift vehicle parked (the mall is doing a lot of construction!) … this vehicle is one of the machines equipped with my company‘s control systems, and there happened to be a nice parking space right next to it, so I had to take pictures!
As you can see, the vehicle is even smaller than a MINI – although it has a higher reach 🙂
And the MINI goes faster (maximum boom vehicle speed is about 3mph, limited by our controls!)
