Harleys & Heroes

The local Harley Davidson dealership is on the corner of I-192, so we pass it many times each week – today, there was a “Harleys & Heroes” event; when we drove by there was a helicopter and various other emergency vehicles.
We returned after lunch; by then the fire trucks had gone, but there was still lots to see!

There was a very impressive “TRI Glide” on display too – maybe the only bike I’d be prepared to ride (three wheels make it much safer); mind you, it’s about the same cost as the MINI Paceman!

Quite liked the idea of Margaret & I riding that machine together! The dealership does rentals too, but of course you need a bike license (and no doubt for that you’d have to ride a two wheel machine); so I doubt that we will try it …

Replacement windows for 8002

It’s always amazed us that Florida windows are single glazed; I understand there’s less need for winter heat than back in Massachusetts – but surely there’s a/c energy savings in the summer?
Whatever the reason, we finally decided to replace some windows with double glazed units – my office (front bedroom) is priority since it is north facing and the huge old window leaks terribly; it gets cold in there on cold winter days (well, cold by Florida standards at least).
We chose in fact to replace the windows in all four bedrooms – the other bedrooms was mainly to reduce exterior noise; we chose Window World (mostly because they seemed to be about the only company around!)
