Florida 2006 – Palm Tree Villa

We flew down to Tampa from Boston this morning, rented a Chrysler Pacifica (a MINI van in disguise) and drove to Palm Tree Villa near DisneyWorld, Orlando. The home is big with two king size bedrooms, two bathrooms, two more bedrooms, and kitchen / lounge / dining area (also an outside screened-in pool)!

We drove through the Disney area today, after picking up Margarets sister Kate from the airport – but we haven’t properly visited yet …

Wentworth By The Sea

This weekend, as a birthday treat, Margaret secretly arranged a trip for us to the Wentworth By The Sea, a fabulous hotel in New Hampshire; the hotel was built in the 1870s but left to ruin in the 1980s; recently it was renovated and was a lovely place to stay, with great views and excellent food:

From the hotel we took a trip to Ogonquit in Maine and walked the Marginal Way – a footpath running along the edge of the Atlantic Ocean:

When we finished our walk, after tea & cake, the heavens opened and so we headed back to the hotel to watch the rain from indoors, and drink “champagne” (Asti, really):
