After more than a year, and a workshop fire, we’ve finally got our custom cabinet finished and installed beside the fireplace – and it looks fabulous! The wood colors (including Mahogany and Red Flame Birch) blend well with the fireplace granite, and the cabinet design perfectly suits the stereo equipment I have, and as designed, we have a great log store space below the stereo, and open shelving above for trinkets, yet to be acquired …
Unusually late warm weather always bring Moths out of who-knows-where, and of course light attracts them – hence the front door was swarmed when I got home from work this dark evening!
We spent our 21st anniversary at The Manor On Golden Pond in New Hampshire, located by Squam Lake which was where On Golden Pond was filmed. But we chose the hotel for it’s views, and lovely room with four poster bed and real fireplace! Our anniversary dinner last night was fabulous too, with everything on this “Chef’s Tasting Menu” excellent, except for the Beet(root) ice cream!
While we were there it got very cold – but we still enjoyed a drive around the area, visiting a few towns and craft stores, following this “old fashioned” mapping technology – and colder still this morning, the view had changed to much more white – the car too!
