A huge storm over North East USA delivered torrential rain and near hurricane force winds to Gloucester (luckily not the crazy heavy snow storm that happened further south in New York and Pennsylvania states) … one effect, combined with high tide and full moon, the winds pushed storm surge water in to the coast and up the Essex river, turning it in to a flood plain lake!

Yes, for a while – but about 1/2 hour after I passed by.
Actually it’s somewhat amusing – they’re making the wall along the Essex Causeway road stronger, yet the water ignored that effort and flooded anyway:
