GPMINI is loaded up with two cases of clothes (one not so big!), camera, computer, Margaret and me … we have 650 miles to drive to get to the start of the Blue Ridge Parkway Tour, and 1-1/2 days; easy 🙂

A day in New York
We’re on our way to Florida for a long weekend, but flew via New York to meet MINI friend Robert and his wife Kittie, who themselves are visiting from California, around an art events where one of Kittie’s marvellous paintings I’d being exhibited.
We flew in late last night, and spent much of today touring, taking a subway down to Battery Park (from where you can see the Statue of Liberty and Ellis Island), then walking downtown New York to see the Brooklyn Bridge and Ground Zero (which you mostly can’t see unless you pay $$$ to visit the gallery),
Still, we could have simply toured right where the hotel is! Almost next door is the beautiful Chrysler Building:
