MTTS – Stick it Again!

After buying an MTTS sticker recently from ToddsMods (design by Gabe of MotoringFile!), I had to order a few more – especially one for my GPMINI MINI journal!
In the package today, Todd also included a special limited edition silver sticker:

(original on left, special on right; and a close-up)

It’s really quite a subtle change – in normal light the sticker just looks less bright – but if you get the light correct, you can see it shine with speckled reflections in the silver text & route, and the red border and state borders.
Todd tells me he will be offering these limited edition stickers during MTTS – so if you like them, search him out!

MOT2006 Check Presentation

Following the amazing fund raising of over $16,000 at MINIsOnTop this year, today a number of MINIsOnTop volunteers gathered to enjoy a BBQ and present a check to Make-A-Wish (also present, MOT2006 major prize winners Shannon (who won the Herb Chambers MINI of Boston lease) and Chuck (who won the MINI of Peabody JCW upgrade)). John from Make-A-Wish joined us for some food, chats, and the check presentation:

Michael and Pam provided an excellent spread of food (including great desserts) and amazingly, the infamous Jeff Baker attended and did a wonderful job of running the BBQs and cooking various wonderful meats!

MANY thanks again to everyone that attended MINIsOnTop, all the “yellowhat” volunteers and the many companies that donated prizes which helped us raise more than $16,000 this year.
MANY thanks also to Michael & Pam, Jeff and everyone that came to enjoy the day.

143lbs lighter!

On the Certificate of Origin for GPMINI the “shipped weight” is listed as 2580lbs.
The Certificate of Origin for GBMINI#3 lists “shipped weight” as 2723lbs.

So GPMINI is apparently 143lbs lighter than GBMINI#3!

And this isn’t because GBMINI is heavy either – it doesn’t have a sunroof, and was delivered on light 16″ wheels. However, it’s been pointed out that the auto transmission on GBMINI probably weighs more than a manual transmission – according to MINI USA there is 45lbs increase for the automatic, so that still leaves the GP weighing 98lbs less than a manual MCS.
