I dropped by this afternoon to exchange a shirt, and saw more convertibles at MINI Peabody. There was a Chili Red and a Liquid Yellow, as well as the two new blues (Hyper Blue & Cool Blue) next to each other.
The Hot Orange (in the showroom) and British Racing Green (demo) were still there too, so MINI Peabody have had at least 8 convertibles so far – maybe 500 total for the USA so far? I guess we will see the sales figures at the end of the month …
Ian,I took the BRG conv.for an extended drive on Tuesday,I was very impressed.I ordered one for Debbie right after MOT and are glad I did.We expect it to come in around the end of March or the begining of April. If you know of anyone wanting a 2003 BRG cooper let me know.
Glad to see body color mirrors, never liked those goofy, IMHO, white mirrors.
Are all those cars I see for sale? WOW, Asseal, in LA, has maybe 3 cars. I see GB MINI in the pic. Maybe, if my wife does buy one, she should give them a call.
If those are the new blues I’m still puzzled as to what MINI was thinking. With so many wonderful colors to chose from why so close? Yes I have heard MF’s conclusion about how dif they look but really just look at the pic…not that different…RB
Joe,
Congratulations to Debbie – and you! Will she stick with a non-S?
RB,
The British Racing Green and Hot Orange are demos and will be sold at, I think, 3K-5K miles. Almost all the others you see, convertible or not, are pre-sold orders (you can see the “SOLD” tag already in the Red convertible).
Yes Ian she is going to stick with the regular Cooper.Just for the heck of it I spec’d out an “S” conv. for me it came out to almost 32k.I guess I’ll sick to my ordered ’05 SLK320 w/6sp trans.
