MINI circuits – busy day!

Following Gabe Bridgers recent positive review on MotoringFile, and a number of positive (and much appreciated) comments from current owners, I had 28 packages to ship today!

Now I have to decide if the 42 remaining auto up window MINI circuits are enough for ever more, or if I need to order another build. I had expected the last build (mid August) to last till the end of the year … wrong! But with only 2 orders today, the “MotoringFile burst” has subsided and perhaps everyone that wants a circuit now has one …
When I built the original auto up windows circuitĀ I never imagined I would now have shipped 300 more than that!

    Read this news story
    Would that set you up for any kind of liability with your circuit? I’m sure you’ve probably thought about it before, just thought I’d bring it up. We live in such a litigious society…
    I’d like to have an auto-up circuit, but the installation is what scares me! šŸ™‚

    That particular rule change is caused by switches that a child could accidentally lean on and cause the window to move up – it is sensible to change the switch design so that leaning down on the switch makes the windows go down, just like our MINIs windows do already.
    With no rear windows, and center-of-front toggle switches protected by hoops, the MINIs switches should not be accidentally triggered by children or adults. Nevertheless, on my web site I specifically request that owners be intelligent and considerate of passenger or pets that they are carrying in the MINI …

  4. My kids never drowned in a bucket, went through the front windshield, got suffocated by a plastic bag, drowned in a pool, got heat stroke in a hot car, I never electrocuted myself in a shower with my hair dryer aaaand so on.
    We in the USA need to do something about these idiots that can’t seem to get through a day using the brains they came equipped with and making us all pay for their stupidity.
    I think it’s amazing that we are controlled by the weakest in our society instead of the other way around. We in the USA have it backassward! But since making better bigger tanks and funding corrupt nations and fighting their battles is a bigger priority that education I guess we deserve what we have now.
    And that’s my 2 cents worth this early morning!

  5. RB — I brought up the news article out of concern for Ian and I agree with you 100%. Idiots seem to rule the world. You can’t even serve hot coffee without fear that some doofus will put the cup between his legs and slosh it all over himself.
    Ian — You’re right, the set-up and position of the toggles preclude from something similar happening in a MINI. I’m glad you’ve thought about the issue and are protecting yourself from potential liability. I’d hate it if someone came after you. You’re only providing a product that people obviously want! Good luck!

  6. From everything I have read, you have done a fantastic job with this Ian! Every review I have seen, is pretty rave…and the CooperSpeed raffle was a great idea! Thanks for providing us with this product, and congrats on the success with it. I know I’ll be ordering one very soon!
