Catching up on magazines, I read this article in Octobers Ward’s Autoworld:
… I love BMW’s Mini, which is 143 ins. (363 cm) long, but I think the VW New Beetle at 161 ins. (408 cm) is as small as I want to get on I-75 … who buys tiny cars? … they are a second or third or fourth vehicle for rich folks who want to look green when the Lambo is getting serviced … I’d love to see millions of minis running around, saving fuel and two to a parking meter. But this is a big country with big houses, big hamburgers and big cars …
Obviously, I don’t agree and I guess most people viewing GBMINI don’t agree either 😉
Well, at least he wasn’t as stupid as the woman in the FoxNews article http://www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,139801,00.html here, eh?
It will be interesting to see how the US market responds to the wave of MINI ‘wannabes’ that is coming in the next few years…there’s also the Audi A3 and BMW 1-series which should make it interesting.
