A cool blue MCS convertible at MINI Peabody is the first to arrive there with the new-for-2005 automatic transmission; here are pictures:
These pictures also show the back of the steering wheel showing one of the shift levers, and the new low fluid warning light; the airbag warning light a bit more obtrusive on the convertible than on the hardtop – and the convertible top warning button …
Did you drive it ? Lot’s of folks anxiously waiting a real life test drive review on this car.
Yuk..!
What is that center roof console. What ugly, cluttered design..! I don’t like it at all.
Do you know if the paddle shifters are supposed to be pushed towards the speedo with the thumbs, or pulled towards the driver with the fingers..? It looks like the former, but I’d have thought the latter was more ergonomic – I’m sure most paddle shifts are the latter…
I do like the new 3 piece dash though – wish I could get that in my 02 🙂
Gavin,
My understanding is that you pull towards you or push away from you to shift up or down – hopefully pull towards you shifts down (increases revs) which seems more natural, but not having driven one I am not certain.
The left & right paddles do the same thing.
