This morning there was just a coating on GBMINI#3, but as much as 6″ or more collected on the path and more than that plowed up on the edge of the road … And the chrome mirror caps are still ice covered …

Ian, did you move your snows over to #3?
Chris – they aren’t snows, but non-runflat all-seasons; and yes I did move them over.
Better ride for me, and no issue with non-runflats for the next owner of #2.
Oh, how’d they do? My Nokians did great last night and this AM…first time I’ve had them out in real stormy conditions.
Thats a very cool effect on the mirror caps, reminds me of a Photoshop filter I once used.
Yes – the ice looks quite nice, so long as it is not preventing me getting around 😉
The Pirelli tires are “fine”. Easily able to trigger DSC or ABS last night be less-than-gentle acceleration/braking. I am sure they are not as good are true snow tires, but they are good enough I think. Only way to really know would be to try a set of snows one winter but I don’t think I will bother.
Never heard if you doors froze?
No issues at all with frozen doors.
The windows were unable to “bob” down properly when I opened the doors, due to ice along the rubber edge, but that did not prevent the doors opening.
I have noticed that the redesigned handles require more pressure to release – perhaps because the pivot point is now in the middle of the handle so reducing leverage. But if it also prevents jamming up in winter, I can accept it.
