Best ever MINI sales in USA!

From MINI USA PR:
MINI Brand Up 23 Percent Year-To-Date, Propelled by Best Retail Month
Demand for MINI brand automobiles was exceptionally strong as the division celebrated its third anniversary in the U.S. on March 22nd. March sales were the best ever recorded, for 4,127 cars versus 2,857 in March 2004, an increase of 44 percent. First quarter sales of MINI automobiles increased 23 percent with sales of 10,184 over the 8,271 sold in the first quarter of 2004.

As always, my complete list of MINI sales in USA has been updated.

In that data you can see that monthly MINI sales broke 4,000 only once before, achieving 4,005 sales in December 2003.

  1. Curious… Do they book a sale upon delivery of a MINI or do they book a sale upon someone placing an order? Not a huge difference, but they can only produce so many MINI’s in a given month, so I’m curious.

  2. I am sure they book sales on the sale – when the money changes hands, so within a day or two of actual delivery (in general).

Remember that the MINI Oxford factory is limited to a certain WORLDWIDE number – USA demand could be “stealing” from other countries …

  3. Impressive! But I’m sure the MCSC has a lot to do with the increase. Without those sales, it wouldn’t be as dramatic.

  4. HAPPY BIRTHDAY, IAN

Re sales, they must have counted mine x 12 since my MA, the legendary Keith P., wants me to get it off the lot soonest. Actually, Wenesday is the big day…..now, where did I put that piggy bank?

Have a great day, my friend.
