After stripes comes lights!

I headed down to MINI Peabody today to get rally lights installed on GBMINI#3 – if they had been installed before the bonnet stripes, they would have needed to be removed again, so I had to wait, till now:

Todd also installed the euro shelf for me in place of the knee bolster, since it has to be removed anyway during the install, and I switched the stock rally light relay for my improved one.

Thank you Todd for a great job, and thank you Gary for “squeezing me in” …

  1. Ian,

Do you have any shots close up of the little supports that touch the back of the driving lights to keep them from vibrating? If not, would you mind taking one, maybe?– I’m trying to figure out whether mine are what they are supposed to be, since mine look very different from the supports I saw on the cars at the NY Auto Show. Thanks.

  2. So can we expect to see a GBMINI#3 sig in mini2 soon then..?
    😉
    Looks good..!

  3. It’s looking good, I’ve been thinking about the Euro shelf myself….think the lights were $695 installed? Little steep for my purse right now tho’ they’d probably be handy for MoT next month.

Are you done w/ the customizations? If not, what else are you thinking of?

  4. Yes the lights where about $700 installed – watching Todd work, I would not want to do the install myself!
Next task for GBMINI#3: improved audio!

  5. The anti-vibration thingys are basically a long threaded piece of metal. Looks like a bolt with no head. There is an inside threaded receiver that goes into holes you must drill in the grille mounting frame (I’ll check the drill bit size tonight if I remember) then the threaded piece goes on. The plastic/rubber bit is just a cap that slides on the threaded piece.

  6. Is the anti-vibration piece available separately from the light kit? If so, does anyone have a part number?
