I was planning to post pics from Montreal – the Peel Street MINI line-up and the F1 GP, but I learned this evening that my friend Keith, a MINI Sales Advisor at MINI Peabody and (ex)MINI owner, is seriously injured.
Sadly, I don’t know many details – he is in intensive care in a Boston hospital; he has broken a vertebra but is not believed to be paralysed.
From what I have heard, the accident might have occurred while diving from a boat on Sunday afternoon/evening.
My thoughts are with you Keith – I hope you recover fully and well.
Oh no! Best wishes and get well soon, Keith!
Best wishes, Keith.
Keep us posted Ian.
Speedy recovery for Keith.

I visited Woodmans this morning. One of Keiths very best friends would normally be there, but is of course in Boston at the moment.
I heard that two vertebra are broken(!) but that Keith does have feeling in his hands, which is a good sign.
Very luckily, some of the friends with him late Sunday night were EMTs or EMT trained – I am sure this helped minimize risk to Keith after the accident.
They think he will be in hospital for at least two months!
UP
Martin & Brigg from MINI Peabody have been to the hospital … “His family is all there, they have no news but think things do look good …”
We must of course hope that this turns out to be true.
thanks for the update ,Ian .The feeling in his hands is indeed good news. It’s really amazing just how resiliant the human spine is, having gone through a cervical laminectomy myself, but the convalescance is indeed long .Thoughts and prayers to keith, from whom I bought my MINI.
Oh man… My thoughts and prayers are with Keith! He was my salesman for my MCS and was an allround great guy, and I wish him a speedy recovery!
News – but not good news.
Keith has been in surgery to stabilize his neck; after waiting a week or so, the plan is to transfer him to the Shepherd Center in Atlanta Georgia – a center focussing on spine injuries.
Ian…Thanks for keeping this up to date. Keith was my MA and always a good source of info/entertainment when I go to MOP. Somehow I knew this was serious, but had no idea it was THIS serious. Shepard Center is one of THE best in the country and always the top choice for those with spinal cord injuries on the East Coast…so he will be in good hands. I definitely wish Keith a full & speedy recovery.
